Queensland Government Amamoor State School

Principal's Messages

Amamoor State School

At Amamoor State School we have an improvement agenda which focuses on improving learning outcomes for every student. The agenda focuses on three areas;

  1. National Curriculum- Preparing a high quality muli-age curriculum
  2. Differentiation- Providing for all levels in the classroom
  3. Effective Teaching Practise- providing high quality teaching in all areas
These three areas form the basis of improving our childrens ability in literacy, numeracy, the arts, science, SOSE, technology, ICT, language and HPE.  At Amamoor we will be particularly focussing on how to provide worthwhile but effective feedback to students, parents and teachers. The latest research states that the most effective influence a child can receive is through feedback."Providing frequent and specific feedback related to learning objectives is one of the most effective strategies to increase student achievement."  Robert Marzano 2000.

Please let the office know of any changes to pick-up details.

Parades are every Tuesday at 2:45pm. All are welcome.

Amamoor 's Responsible Behaviour Plan has been updated which includes a classroom management plan for every teacher.

The end of year performance will be at the Amamoor town hall this year, Wednesday evening 30th November.

The Amamoor School Playgroup will commence in 2012.
Please phone the office for more details.
